Application

How to Apply Kleem Organics® Advanced 2.5% Retinol Cream for Maximum Results

The correct application of the cream is as important as the product itself.

We typically advise applying retinol creams at night, especially in summer. It’s still fine to apply the Retinol cream during the day, as long as you follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or greater.

Step 1

Cleanse your face properly with warm water in order to dissolve away dirt, oil or dead skin.

Step 2

Apply a warm moist towel to your face for 3 minutes in order to gently open the pores of the skin and then use your favorite anti-aging product containing rejuvenating ingredients. A vitamin C serum would be advisable.

Step 3

Wait 15 minutes after washing your face before applying the Retinol cream in order to reduce irritation. When you wash your skin, you disturb your skin’s natural barrier and waiting a bit will give your skin more time to recover. Also, applying retinoids onto damp skin will cause it to absorb faster, increasing the chances of irritation.

Step 4

Retinoids will make your skin more sensitive to the sun, therefore it is best to apply them at night. If you feel comfortable with your retinol and want to add an extra boost, you can apply it in the morning too, but you should also be using a good sunscreen to protect your skin even more. If it’s your first time using Retinol, use twice a week for one week, then three times a week for two weeks. If, your skin has had zero reactions thus far (no burning, itching redness, or irritation), bump up your usage to every day, and then keep it there for a few months before attempting twice a day usage.

Step 5

Squeeze a pea-size dab of retinol into your fingers. Using your fingers, smooth the retinol over your face, starting first with your forehead (the skin there is less sensitive, so it can take a stronger dose if you accidentally apply too much), then moving on to your nose, cheeks, chin and neck.

Step 6

If your skin gets dry it is okay to apply your favorite moisturizer after putting on your Retinol cream. Just make sure you wait anywhere from 10 minutes to 20 minutes after applying the Retinol cream to apply your moisturizer so you do not diminish the effects of the retinol. However, if you are experiencing too much irritation from the retinol, you could buffer it with moisturizer to reduce some of the redness and dryness.

FAQ

PRODUCT INFORMATION

What is the shelf-life of this product when used daily?

The shelf-life of our Retinol cream has been tested and certified to be 12 months from production date. We produce fresh new cream every month to ensure every customer to get always fresh Retinol cream.

What is the percentage of Retinol?

There are different types of retinoids that have various strengths. We use a form of Retinol known as: Retinyl palmitate and the percentage we use in our Kleem Organics® Retinol Cream is 2.5%.

USE OF PRODUCT

Can this product help prevent premature signs of aging?

Early use of our Kleem Organics® Retinol Cream will help to combat fine lines and wrinkles before they become noticeable. With consistent and continual use, Retinol is effective in fighting the signs of aging.

Is it normal to experience redness and irritation while using this product?

Yes. If you experience redness, irritation or excessive dryness, reduce usage frequency. Retinol may cause some skin types to peel initially.

Can pregnant women use this product?

No. We do not recommend using Retinol while pregnant or breast-feeding. Studies have shown that high amounts of Vitamin A during pregnancy may have detrimental effects.

Will Retinol cause skin to become dry?

Retinol may initially cause dryness and peeling in some skin types. However, Kleem Organics® Retinol Cream contains bio-active ingredients, which help boost skin’s hydration levels.

Can I use your Retinol cream with other products?

Yes. It can be combined with other products. Our Kleem Organics® Retinol Cream is commonly combined with our Kleem Organics® Vitamin C Serum.

How Long Until I See Results?

Retinoids take time to work, approximately 6 to 7 weeks. Most people don’t see any results the first few weeks, but everyone’s skin is different. Some people get good results right away while others have to be more patient. However, benefits from retinoids usually peak after one year of consistent use.

Can you use this product around your eyes?

While your eyes are more sensitive, it is okay to use our Kleem Organics® Retinol Cream under your eye area to diminish fine wrinkles there (don’t put it on your eyelids though). When you first start using it under your eye, it is common for any fine lines to look creepy and be even more pronounced. But, it should get better after a while. If your eye is too sensitive to the retinoid, you can try buffering the product or just not using any near your eyes.

Can I use AHA or BHA with your Retinol Product?

A common misperception about retinol is that it exfoliates skin. Retinol, in any of its forms, does not do the same thing as AHA or BHA exfoliants.

AHAs and BHA ingredients exfoliate the dead surface layers of skin, improving signs of environmental damage and hydrating for renewed smoothness. Retinol doesn’t work that way.

The confusion arises because retinol does cause flaking skin for some people. When they see the flakes they assume the retinol is also exfoliating their skin. Flaking skin is not necessarily a sign of exfoliation. The AHAs and BHA help skin do what it should be doing naturally, and you don’t notice your dead skin cells when they shed naturally; instead, you just see a smooth, renewed skin surface and a healthy glow. AHAs and BHA help skin shed the way it did when you were young.

For the best anti-aging benefits, it’s ideal to use both an exfoliant and a retinol cream as part of your regular skincare routine.
